Die Trauben für diesen Wein stammen aus den besten Lagen in Wagram ob der Traisen, wo zum Teil über 30 Jahre alte Weinstöcke eine alljährlich hohe Qualität sichern. Hier sorgen südostseitig geneigte Hanglagen und tiefgründiger Lössboden für beste Reifegradationen.

Vinification

Selection of the best physiological ripe grapes, de-stemmed, crushed and after short skin contact pressed gently in pneumatic press. Temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed after “bâtonnage” and aging in stainless steel tanks.

Wine description

Medium greenish yellow; slight scent of ripe apple and herbs from flowering meadows as well as some smoky mineral touch.Powerful body with very delightful fruity expression. Tender sweetness well balanced with pleasant freshness. Persistent.

Serve chilled (11-13° C)

Food pairings

Fits well at the end of a dinner or together with soft, creamy cheese like camembert. Brigos is also agreat wine for meditation and fits excellent for a long and relaxing evening at the fireside.

The history: “Brigos” is the ancient Celtic word for powerful and mighty. This wine looks into a mighty future and recognizes the foundation of wine culture in the Traisen valley by the Celtic people more than 2000 years ago. Scientists today believe, that the wine culture there is not of Roman origin but has been developed by the Celtic people themself. [Source: University of Agriculture, Vienna; APA 14.12.2006]. The Roman scholar Plinius reports about Celtic travelling craftsmen, who have carried grapes from Italy back to their central European homeland. It is a fact that the Celtics have impressed with strength and might. These characteristics should be also reflected by the Brigos of the Brindlmayer family.
